Team Highwave is proud to announce our latest champion in the battle for a cleaner and healthier planet, the Earthlid™! Created from recyclable silicone, Earthlid™ replaces single use polystyrene coffee lids, as well as the plastic lids and straws on takeaway cups that are poisoning Earth and everything on it.

Polystyrene is made from styrene, a known carcinogen. It’s incredibly difficult to recycle, which is why it is one of the most common plastic pollutants in our oceans. Plastic lids and straws take about 200 years to break down into the micro plastics that are making their way into our bodies via Earth’s air, food, and water supplies. Prior to breakdown, they can be found littering every continent and waterway globally.

Earthlid™ is made from BPA-free, European food grade silicone, which means it’s healthier for your body and our ecosystem. It’s portable, infinitely reusable and recyclable, a breeze to clean, and easy to add to your preferred beverage. The attached strap rotates to seal your drink for transport, or to hold your beverage temp steady, longer. We’ve designed it to fit biodegradable take-out cups, as well as some of your Highwave favorites.

Of the 8.3 billion metric tons of plastic that has been produced since the 1950’s, nearly 80% remains and it’s accumulating rapidly in our landfills and natural environment. Scientists estimate that more than 8 million metric tons of plastic is entering our oceans each year. As daunting as these facts are, we believe that small actions can have a profound impact toward healing our lands and oceans. We believe that YOU can have a profound impact, just by carrying your own lid.
